Resources & Information for Getting Started

The starting point is for those wanting to support the sport of Olympic Weightlifting by getting certified as a Technical Official is the TO Level 4 certification. All athletes, parents and coaches are encouraged to pursue the TO4 certification to gain knowledge of the competition rules and be able to help with facilitation of competitions within British Columbia.

To become a BCWA Level 4 TO, one must:

  1. Be a current BCWA member
  2. Attend an Officiating Clinic conducted by an CWFHC Level 3 (or higher) TO
  3. Pass the 50-question theory exam - conducted by a CWFHC Level 3 (or higher) TO.
  4. A short practicum involving guided participation in specific roles within a competition
